Jw's known for showing love to others??? Only true Christians??? Their supposed model, Jesus, showed love to beggers, tax collectors, harlots. Do you think he would demand a DF'ed person to leave a family members funeral?

Funerals and Disfellowshipped Individuals
by lepermessiah innot to "hijack" dogpatch's recent thread, but the experience he relayed in the above topic struck a nerve and i was curious for more input.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/188715/1/my-aunts-funeral-at-the-kingdom-hall.
if there is ever a time when a shred of human dignity and compassion is deserved, it is at a funeral.. i am appalled by the way disfellowshipped individuals are treated, but especially at witness funerals.. the flesh and blood relatives have the right to be there if they choose.
if you are a witness and you are offended by a disfellowshipped person attending, dont let the door hit you in the @$$ on the way out.

Blood Transfusion? Yes Please
by finallysomepride inon monday night i ended in hospital with kidney stones (5th time) this ones plagued me for the last 2-3 years.. i recieved all the necessary pain killers to settle things down, so i was comfotable most of tuesday.
tuesday night the specialists came to see me, & they asked about me being a jw and would i still refuse a blood transfusion.. immediatley i said no to being a jw & yes to a blood transfusion, i had been wonderng for sometime what would be my awnser be, & how quick i would responde to these questions, so now i know.. by the way there was alot relief on the faces of the specialist when i answered this way.. they have only so far put a stent in to relieve the pressure from the stone blocking the kidney, further treatment to come but could be some months away.. so anyway i'm still in hospital, thank god for netbooks & wireless broadband, i go home 2moro.. just thought i would share what i've been through these last couple of days, & to say i really am feeling like i'm now free of the borg.. kevin.

Best wishes on your recovery, I've known several people who have had them. I wouldn't wish that on even the most zealous jw. Congrats on your quick answer also, nice to know that you value life now, isn't it?

Jamie Bowers - My jw mom turned her own fellow jw sister in to the elders for allowing her df'd kids to attend a family gathering at her home after the funeral of an uncle who wasn't even a jw.
The funniest thing of all was that her DF'ed son who all the trouble was about owned the house that they has the dinner at. His mother signed it over to him several years before because out of 11 children, he, the terrible DF'ed son, was the only one to help her with maintenance, lawn mowing, ect. Everyone knew that he owned it, but her sister and her own son went to the elders to complain. What a bunch of assholes!

If you didn't spend so much time in the tub and practicing guitar you'd have more time for service.
I liked the Bill Murry parts, good movie.

True friends are friends unconditionally. None of jw's are really your friend, sorry if you just found that out. It takes time to find true friends, but it is worth the investment. I consider many on this board my friends, although I have not personally met alot of them, maybe you can can find that also. You can find alot of help from ones here, feel free to post more soon.

Elders who step down for little or no reason?
by Truthexplorer inwithin the past decade, two elders stepped down in my old congregation.
actually one was taken off for commiting adultery and therefore reproved, but the other one simply stepped down for no apparent reason.
also, in another congregation i used to attend for a short time, i was shocked to hear of another elder stepping down, again for no apparent reason.. i am wondering if there has been an increase in the number of elders stepping down for no obvious reason and to see if this is a worrying trend causing alarm for the society.. i am thinking the past 10 years, particularly with the internet being available to so many people around the world today; but have you experienced many elders stepping down in your congregation or past congregation?

No reason? How about doing hours of thankless work, spending much if not all of your spare time on cong matters, listening to countless hours of griping and bitching, ect. Plenty of reasons to me.
